# Configure User Source Directory Overview

TruU connects to your organization's user directory to manage who can access the system. This section covers the supported directory types and how to add one.

When a user is active in your directory, they can sign in with TruU. If a user is disabled or removed from the directory, they immediately lose access. TruU only reads from your directory — it never makes any changes to it.

## Adding a Directory

In the TruU Admin Console, go to **Settings > Directory**, click the **+** button, select your directory type, and follow the setup steps.
