# Frontline Access 26.2.0 Release Notes

### **Enhancements**

**Simplified Installation and Enterprise Deployment**

You can now deploy Shared Workstation using a single executable (EXE) installer that bundles the required .NET runtime, simplifying enterprise deployments and reducing prerequisite management. The installer supports silent installation, making it suitable for deployment through enterprise management solutions such as Microsoft Intune and Microsoft SCCM.

All release binaries are digitally signed, providing a more trusted installation experience while maintaining the existing MSI installer for advanced deployment scenarios.

**Localized User Experience**

Shared Workstation now supports localization of user-facing text throughout the login experience. Users can view prompts and messages in supported languages, providing a more consistent and intuitive experience across global deployments.

This enhancement improves usability for multilingual organizations and helps deliver a more familiar authentication experience to end users.

**Automatic Recovery from Driver and Service Issues**

Shared Workstation now helps users recover from certain Windows driver or service issues that may occur after operating system updates. When these conditions are detected, users are presented with clear guidance and the option to restart the system to restore normal operation.

This reduces login interruptions and helps users recover more quickly without requiring administrator assistance.

**Enhanced File System Protection**

Shared Workstation has been updated to avoid writing application data into protected Windows system directories. Application files and runtime data are now stored using Windows-recommended locations, improving compatibility with Windows security policies and enterprise management practices.

This enhancement strengthens system security while improving long-term maintainability and deployment reliability.

**Bug Fixes**

•	Improved reliability when deploying Shared Workstation using the new EXE installer.

•	Improved reliability of .NET runtime configuration during installation.

•	Improved installation reliability through enhanced driver installation handling.

•	General stability and reliability improvements across installation, upgrade, and authentication workflows.

### **Upgrade Notes**

•	A new EXE installer is available and includes the required .NET runtime, simplifying deployment on systems without a pre-installed .NET runtime.

•	The existing MSI installer remains available for customers who prefer MSI-based deployment workflows.
