TruU Agentless User Guide   Prerequisites 
  • Computer: General support is available across modern Windows and MacOS devices with biometrics enabled (i.e., Windows Hello or TouchID)
    • Windows: Windows 10 or higher (Windows 11 22H2+ preferred) 
    • MacOS: MacOS Ventura or higher 
  • Mobile Device:  
    • iPhone: iOS 16 or greater 
    • Android: Android 9 O/S or greater 
  • Browser: Most modern browsers now support Passkeys – ensure browsers are up to date to take advantage of the latest capabilities for Passkeys
    • Chrome: 109 
    • Safari: 16 
    • Edge: 109 
  • Security Key: Hardware keys that support FIDO2 protocol (i.e., YubiKey) 
Getting Started 
  1. Login to your Organization’s TruU User Portal
 
  1. Click the (+) button, then choose the Passkey option
   
  1. Next, click on the Enroll button
  Note: Based on the combination of device, browser and the way the device and browser are both configured, the browser will display the available options for you to create and store your Passkey. As an example, the following options appear when accessing the TruU Portal from a Chrome browser, running on a MacOS device (with TouchID enabled)     Creating Passkey in Browser 
  1. As a continuation from above, click on the Your Chrome profile option to create (and store) a Passkey within your Chrome browser
 
  1. Click Continue to confirm Passkey creation for your account  
 
  1. Next, provide your biometrics in order to create a Passkey on your device    
  Note: Once your biometrics (or password) are validated, a Passkey will be generated and stored within your Chrome browser. The Passkey will also be displayed in your TruU User Portal for general management (i.e., deleting Passkey)   Login with Passkey 
  1. As a continuation from above, navigate to a resource, then select the Passkey option for login 
 
  1. Confirm the Passkey you wish to use for sign-in, then click “Continue” Note: You can register for multiple Passkeys with your Organization and personal apps. All previously registered Passkeys will appear in this menu for your selection  
 
  1. To access your Passkey, provide your biometrics (or password) to authenticate to the app  
  Once your biometrics (or password) are validated, the Passkey within the browser is utilized to authenticate you to the application     Creating Passkey in Phone 
  1. As a continuation from above, once your browser presents the available options for you to create a Passkey, choose the Use a phone, tablet, or security key option 
 
  1. Next, use the native camera on your phone to scan the QR code on your screen Note: Bluetooth must be enabled on both the device and phone during the scanning process
  Login with Passkey 
  1. As a continuation from above, navigate to a resource, then select the Passkey option for login  
 
  1. Confirm the Passkey you wish to use for sign-in, then click Continue  
 
  1. Based on the Passkey you selected, the browser will intelligently display the appropriate options for authentication. In this example, a QR code is displayed – scan the QR code with the phone containing the Passkey and provide your biometrics (i.e., FaceID for iPhone or Trusted Face for Android)
  Note: Once your biometrics (or device PIN) are validated, the Passkey within your phone is utilized to authenticate you to the application
