A Way Out When Your Domain Is Unreachable

  • If your device cannot reach your organization’s network, sign-in attempts that fail from Windows being unable to communicate with Entra or a Domain Controller no longer repeat indefinitely. Previously, dismissing the error caused Windows to retry, which failed again, with no way to break the cycle. The Windows Authenticator now steps back after repeated failures and leaves you at the credential tiles, so you can sign in with your password or another method and get to work. Authentication inside an active session is unaffected and continues to work as often as you need it.

Bug Fixes

  • The TruU sign-in window now appears reliably on machines where that detection previously failed and left you with no way sign in.
  • Fixed an issue where temporary files created during installation were not digitally signed, causing Windows Defender and Attack Surface Reduction rules to block them and prevent the installation from completing.
