How Is Mouse Data Used?

CAuth uses environmental signals—currently Wi‑Fi network activity. The collection of observable WiFi networks and their respective signal strengths can give strong indications about the current location of the machine. While this does not pinpoint the location in an absolute sense, it does allow CAuth to infer the machine’s current location relative to previously observed locations. Knowing the frequency with which the authenticated user has been in a particular location in the past can give strong contextual information about the inherent risk associated with accessing the machine at any given time.
