TruU integrates with a variety of Enterprise directories as the “source of truth” for metadata about a user. TruU queries the directory in order to register a valid user, to confirm user status (i.e. active / not active) during authentication, and to validate additional attributes (i.e. employeeID) for enrollment verification flows. Disabling the user in the directory will disable the user from using the TruU service. In all cases, TruU only requires read-only permissions to the directory (see details for each directory below) in order to query metadata about a given user, computer, group membership, etc. TruU does not update, write, or delete attributes within the directory. Directories communicate with TruU Identity Servers and are managed within the “Directories” menu in the “Settings” tab of the TruU Admin Console.
