  2. Enter the code below to check for both fingerprint and facial recognition modules, as well as all viable camera devices
Get-PnpDevice -Class Biometric, Camera
NOTE: The results from these commands would need to be compiled in a third party tool of your choosing. Additionally, TruU only supports “IR” compatible camera. If you do not see an “IR” within the generated response, facial recognition will not be supported. We have seen that the “Logitech Brio” camera to work best with Enterprise setups. Make sure that you work with your Admin to install the necessary drivers to ensure the highest performance. However, for the biometrics to work in TruU application, the biometric driver should be up to date. You would not able to register the fingerprint or face biometric is the drivers are not upgraded. In order to upgrade the drivers manually, please follow the steps below Please upgrade the biometric drivers using the following steps:
  1. Open Device Manager by pressing Windows + X and selecting Device Manager.
  2. Expand the Biometric Devices section.
  3. Right-click on the biometric device (e.g., “Fingerprint Sensor”).
  4. Select Update Driver.
You will be given two options:
  • Search automatically for updated driver software: This option will search your computer and online sources for the latest driver version and install it automatically.
  • Browse my computer for driver software: If you’ve already downloaded the driver from the manufacturer’s website, you can select this option to manually install it. Once the drivers are upgraded, you should be able to use the fingerprint sensor.
If you do not have administrative access to upgrade the drivers, please contact your internal IT help desk for assistance.
