Android keeps biometric data separate between personal and work profiles. If TruU is installed in your work profile, you’ll need to enroll your fingerprint (or face) specifically for work apps.
⚠️ Why am I seeing “Biometrics Not Set”? Even if you already use fingerprint unlock on your phone, your work profile has its own biometric store. You need to register your fingerprint again in your work profile settings. This is an Android security requirement — not a TruU limitation.

Google Pixel

Android 15+ (Pixel 9 series)
Settings → Security & privacy → Device Unlock → Face & Fingerprint unlock for work
Android 12–14 (Pixel 6 / 7 / 8)
Settings → Security → Advanced Settings → Fingerprint Unlock for work
You’ll be asked to enter your work profile PIN first, then enroll a new fingerprint specifically for the work profile.

Samsung Galaxy

One UI 6 and earlier (S22, S23, A-series)
Settings → Security and privacy → More security settings → Work profile security → Fingerprints
One UI 7 (S24 Ultra, S25 series)
Settings → Security and privacy → More security settings → Work profile security
⚠️ One UI 7 extra steps:
  1. Turn off “Use one lock” to separate personal and work profile locks.
  2. Go to Work profile lock to add a PIN, fingerprint, and face recognition.
  3. If you see a blank screen when adding fingerprints, temporarily disable Identity Check (Settings → Security and privacy → Identity Check), enroll the fingerprint, then re-enable it.
Older Samsung (One UI 5 / Android 13)
Settings → Security and privacy → Work profile security → add fingerprint

Xiaomi / Redmi / POCO

HyperOS / MIUI 14+
Settings → Passwords & security → Fingerprint unlock
If a work profile is active, a separate “Fingerprint for work” option may appear here or under the work profile settings section. Alternative path
Settings → Work Profile → Fingerprints
Fallback (stock Android behavior)
Settings → Security → More security settings → Face & fingerprint unlock for work
Note: Xiaomi’s implementation varies significantly across devices and MIUI/HyperOS versions. If the option isn’t visible, your IT admin’s MDM policy may need to explicitly allow it.

OnePlus

OxygenOS 14+ (OnePlus 12, 13, Nord)
Settings → Security & privacy → More security settings → Fingerprint for work
Older OxygenOS (OnePlus 8–10)
Settings → Security & lock screen → (scroll to bottom) → Fingerprint for work

Huawei

EMUI 12 / HarmonyOS 2+
Settings → Biometrics & password → Fingerprint ID
If a work profile is active, look for a separate “Fingerprint for work” option under this section or in additional security settings.
Note: Newer Huawei devices running pure HarmonyOS (without Android) do not support Android Enterprise work profiles. This applies only to Huawei devices still running EMUI or with GMS support.

Motorola / Lenovo

Android 13+
Settings → Security → More security settings → Fingerprint for work
Android 12
Settings → Security → Advanced Settings → Fingerprint Unlock for work

Other Android Devices

Android 15+
Settings → Security & privacy → Device Unlock → Face & Fingerprint unlock for work
Android 12–14
Settings → Security → More security settings → Fingerprint for work
These paths follow stock Android conventions. Your device manufacturer may have a slightly different location — look for anything labeled “for work” in your security settings.

Common Issues

Must enroll again: Your existing personal fingerprints are not shared with the work profile. You need to register the same (or different) finger again within the work profile settings. PIN required first: Before biometrics can be added, a separate PIN or password for the work profile must be set up. You’ll be prompted for this during enrollment. Option greyed out?: Your organization’s MDM policy may restrict biometric unlock for work apps. Contact your IT administrator to confirm biometrics are permitted. Setting not visible?: The “for work” biometric options only appear when a work profile is actively provisioned on your device. If you don’t see it, your work profile may not be set up yet.
