What TruU technology allows the physical card access to open HID readers?
  • When using TruU with HID readers, the TruU Identity Platform handles the user enrollment and creation of credentials by calling SoloInsight APIs to the TruU mobile app. The TruU mobile app gets instructions both for itself and the readers in the ecosystem via recurring device check-ins with TruU and is responsible for enforcement of those policies. Readers securely communicate with panels using the OSDP protocol, which securely encrypts access requests from a reader to the panel. Share payload details around the transmitted data (back-and-forth) between TruU app on user’s managed mobile device and Origo platform that is used to A. establish the connection, B. request the digital badge
How does TruU authenticate the phisical ID badges if they never recieve an issued digital badge?
  • TruU ensures that it never gets access to the issued digital badge (ID) during the one-time enrollment or subsequently during or right after the transit before the digital badge is stored in the Wallet, e.g., technical details on how TruU facilitates the request, provision, and storage into the native “wallet” platform. This is not described in the deployment guide.  The TruU mobile apps were built using the HID Origo SDK to work with HID Origo and the SoloInsight SDK with CloudGate. The SDK ensures secure provisioning of the credentials and secure communication between device and reader
What happens during the offline scenario? In other words, what controls/policies does TruU have when the Card Reader and the Associated Controllers lose the connection and cannot validate the digital badge?
  • Physical Access Control Systems are built to work with and without network connectivity. The card readers read the card presented by the mobile app and pass the card value to the local access control panel.  The panels will accept or reject the mobile credential regardless of network status.  The only thing that can’t be done while offline is provisioning and revocation of mobile credentials
What role does TruU play when the mobile native Wallet app is doing NFC communication with the Card Reader? How does it validate account’s state (disabled/locked etc.)?
  • TruU can be configured to automatically unenroll mobile apps (and remove the mobile credentials) if the user’s account is disabled and/or locked in the directory
Can you continue to use your previous key fob, or does TruU replace all other physical badges entirely?
  • You can continue using your existing physical badge in addition to TruU
What do I do if I am unable to unlock a door with my phone?
  • If you are unable to unlock door with phone, try the following:
    • Relaunch the TruU Mobile App
    • Reach out to your IT support
